Identifying the Enemy of Christ and our Soul

GOSSIP - Etymology: Middle English gossib, from Old English godsibb, from god god + sibb kinsman,

1 a dialect British : a person who habitually reveals personal or sensational facts about others
2 a : rumor or report of an intimate nature b : a chatty talk c : the subject matter of gossip

The definition of Gossip above should remind us of the garden experience with Eve and Adam when the Serpent said if you eat of the fruit you will be as gods knowing both good and evil. Perhaps a gossip represents the character of those who seek to destroy and undermine the One True and Living God Jesus Christ. God is a creator and Satan is a destroyer. Gossip has never created anything good but it has destroyed many good people and has been used for thousands of years to attack the kingdom of God!

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous [are they], selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, [as] they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots [they are] and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.

Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Who is sitting in your temple ( Your Heart ) is your life bearing witness to the Spirit of the True Christ or are you bearing witness of the false messiah being the offspring of the lawless man of Sin?

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

The race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Don't be discouraged by the enemies smoke. The Holy Ghost will always bring victory with a conquering fire

Perhaps you have failed in your desire to be a faithful witness for Christ?

Maybe your reputation and character has been brought into question because you have stumbled?

Maybe someone bore false witness against you?

Christ is our covering those that are saved or lost when they look to us should see the witness of our Lord Jesus Christ. The witness of Christ bears forgiveness, love and longsuffering toward those who might seek to do us harm.

If we are Christ's and the Spirit dwells within us then we are not our own. The honor that we might feel compelled to defend when we are under attack is Christ's honor and not our own. Christ has no need of our protection he has already proven his Character and we should follow his example.

A multitude of shortcomings have been cast in the sea of forgetfulness. The enemy is a liar so rebuke the enemy when he accuses you and trust in the Lord.

Prov 12:20

Deceit [is] in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace [is] joy.

Prov 12:21

There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

Don't quit because you lost a battle or failed. Every loss that we survive will count toward

Jesus Christ has already won the war against the enemy of our souls. We now need to

accept through faith Christ's victory in our own lives. Stop believing the enemies lies!
