Faith is not the Accomplishment of Salvation but a Prerequisite to Conversion
Lu.22:32
Christ told the Apostle Peter, "But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren".
Peter knew Christ was the Word. He walked and Talked with him, even gave him the hand of a friend and brother, but still he was not yet converted nor could Peter overcome his uncontrolled desire to preserve is own flesh. This is why he denied that he was one of the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Peter was a good man and his Faith did not fail him. Christ prayed for the strengthening of his faith so it could not fail. Peter was a man chosen of God but no matter how good we are, no matter how well we might think we know Christ and his word or how many times we extend the hand of friendship or brotherhood to Christ and the Church we will not be able to overcome the (Man of Sin or Anti-Christ Spirit) until we have been converted by the regeneration process in us by the holy ghost.
We can hear the Word preached over and over time and time again the word may help build our Faith, and probably will help polish us and shine us up a little bit, and educate us about the contents of the Bible. However frequently going to Church and hearing the Word or reading the Word just builds Faith but unless we yield to the Spirit and let the Spirit come on the inside of us to wash the inside and begin the Conversion process through the Spirit of Christ in us, we will still be an unfit vessel that God cannot use or work through.
When the time of testing comes and the threat of losing our lives arises for Christ Name or the Gospel. Those that are not converted will deny Christ as Peter did also, before he was Converted, by the Holy Ghost.
If you do not have the power of Christ on the inside (The Man of Sin in this Flesh) will convince you to spare his life and deny the life and Name of Jesus.
Had Peter been converted as he was when he gave his life in martyrdom, when he defended Christ's Name and the Gospel, he would have prevailed and would not have denied the Lord.
The Spirit was not yet given because Christ had not fulfilled the work at the cross yet and was not yet glorified. The comforter had not yet come unto those who are Christ's redeemed by his blood to live and dwell (Tabernacle) with them in this temple of flesh.
When we are truly converted then we will put on Christ and the Spirit of Christ in us will not allow us to deny Christ, because we will be one in Christ. No converted man or woman ever hated their own body (We are then married to Christ) that would be suicide to us!
1Co.6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
HERE IS WARNING:
WHEN THE TEMPLE OF GOD SHALL BE CLOSED TO MANKIND DURING THE OPENING OF THE SEALS AND THE WRATH OF GOD SHALL BE POURED OUT UPON SATAN'S SEAT AND UPON THE EARTH THOSE THAT ARE UNCONVERTED WILL DENY GOD BECAUSE IF HIS SPIRIT IS NOT IN YOU ALREADY, IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO YOU DURING THAT TIME!
MEN WILL PRAY FOR THE MOUNTAINS TO FALL ON THEM DURING THIS TRIBULATION AND PRAY TO DIE (Repent and be Converted) AND DEATH SHALL FLEE FROM THEM.
Re.15:8
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
