BAPTISM INTO CHRIST'S DEATH and THE RESURRECTION of THE LAST DAY

Numbers 19:11-12

11 He that touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

We are dead in our trespasses and sins, the death that defiles us is Original Sin passed down to us from our parents Adam and Eve.

We are all guilty and have the burden upon us of bearing this body of death. We are unclean.

The waters of Separation did not have the power to fully redeem man from sin and make man clean, but obedience to the commandment pushed the Sin and uncleanness away, that man might live, and his sentence of death would be put off for a time, until Christ would come and honor the faithful of God’s Law and Commandments and reward their obedience with eternal Life.

Had one touched a dead body they were required to be sprinkled by the waters of separation on the third day, and they would be clean on the seventh day, or the last day.

Then Yahshua Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by you, and are you coming to me?" But Yahshua answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."  Matthew 3:13-15

This is also a picture that parallels Baptism into Jesus Christ our YavahShua. Christ rose from the dead on the third day by the Power of his resurrection. We are commanded to become partakers with Christ in his death through obedience to the Gospel of Christ, the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Christ. That we may also be clean when we stand before God at the Last day! No Abomination, or anything Unclean or any thing that maketh a Lie shall enter through the Gates into the Holy City of God!

The New Testament believers demonstrate the mode of baptism to us.

Acts 19:4

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 10:48

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 8:16

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 2:38

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Strongs Greek word, #907 baptizo overwhelmed (ie fully wet) same Greek word as in Acts 2:38, and 19:4  #907 baptizo in water into the Name singular of Jesus.

Every man and woman must come to the full assurance of Christ themselves through their personal communion with Christ.

If Christ sets you free you are free indeed! Praise God, Let the Whole family of God give him Glory.

What did Jesus' baptism say to us?

Considering the fact of Yahshua Jesus had a 50% priestly bloodline and a descendant of King David, and the concept of him being both king and priest, something interesting he said at his baptism needs to be seen in a new light. Bear in mind that it is the kings responsibility to execute judgment from the throne, and the priests responsibility to execute righteousness by officiating at the altar. This is not to say that the King has no need of righteousness or the priests of judging a matter. It simply means that each has their responsibility before God and the nation to see that their respective divine mandates are executed.

When Yahshua, Jesus came to John and asked John to baptize him, John immediately recoils at the thought.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by you, and are you coming to me?" But Yahshua answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."  Matthew 3:13-15

John was accustomed to baptizing people in response to their repentance of sins and turn them back to the Word of God the Scriptures. It was a symbolic public declaration of a new birth into a new life of righteous living. He knew Yahshua had no need of such a baptism because he had no sin to turn from! It is Yahshua's answer to John's protest that is interesting here.  He said, "It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness". Yahshua indicated to John that this was not to be the usual type of baptism. His baptism was to "fulfill all righteousness". I believe Yahshua's baptism was a type of anointing into the priesthood where righteousness is to be fulfilled... and this by John, the son of Zacharias and Elizabeth... a full-blooded Levite.

   Rev 1:5-6

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

   Rev 5:9-10

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

I especially appreciate the Word of God building on the baptism of Christ. I had not previously associated both the Kingship and Priesthood together with his baptism by John. This does in fact strengthen and support the view and belief that we are heirs through Christ of the Kingdom and have become by his authority, Kings and Priests in respect to sharing this Message of the Kingdom through the ministry of the Word and Baptism into the Name of Jesus Christ YahvehShua. All Praise to YahvehShua, Jesus.
